Niykee has experienced a whirlwind few years including being selected by Snoop to perform with Snoop at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule despite all this. She is now a magnet for aspiring producers she constantly combs through beats sent her way and discovers that a lot of them are able to spark song ideas. Within 5 seconds, I can tell the quality of a song or not. Then I get an idea for the song and write it immediately. While I'm on my porch and play guitar, the lyrics just appear and usually are completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee states that, as she grows as a lyricist, the painful memories of her childhood are an inspiration. Even when she is not writing about events that are actually happening, all of her pain through her childhood and grief over the loss of her daughter makes it's way into her music. The memories influence my songs and helps to create this greater significance behind everything that is among the most significant things to me--I need to know that I'll be able to hear any of my music 20 years from now and still be proud of what I said.
